Secure Cloud Expansion

Open Nexus is the undisputed leader in the Polish public procurement market, holding a 33.6% share of the entire sector. The scale of the company’s operations is best illustrated by the fact that in 2024, transactions worth 4.5% of Poland’s entire GDP passed through its flagship service, platformzakupowa.pl. The world of Open Nexus is one of precise procedures, rigorous requirements, and constant pressure for faultless operation.

Challenges

Building Technological Foundations for a New Scale of Operations

Open Nexus’s rapid growth and expanding client base were proof of success, which created a natural need to evolve the existing on-premise infrastructure. It was time for technology to catch up with business ambitions. Together, we identified the key objectives of this transformation:

Enabling unlimited scalability:

The goal was to create a flexible environment where the platform could grow without limits, and every new business success would be supported by reliable and efficient technology.

Accelerating innovation:

We wanted to provide the IT team with modern tools and free them from the limitations of the existing architecture, so they could fully focus on rapidly implementing new functionalities and raising security standards.

Achieving key market standards:

Adapting to the requirements of the national cloud operator was a strategic priority, paving the way for strengthening credibility in the public sector and further expansion.

Standardization and optimization of environments:

It was crucial to unify previously dispersed environments (production, development, testing) to increase the efficiency and fluidity of implementation processes.

Our collaboration with Tenesys is proof of their utmost professionalism. We highly recommend them as a partner.

Our role

Partnership for Compliance: Choosing a Cloud and Polish Market Expert

Open Nexus was looking for a partner who not only understood cloud technology but, above all, the specifics of the Polish market and its regulatory requirements.

Our success in complex migration processes and the guarantee of compliance with the highest security standards in Poland were decisive factors in Tenesys’s selection. This assured Open Nexus that we understood their unique challenge – the need to combine modern technology with rigorous legal and security requirements.

Migration and Maintenance Strategy: Four Steps to a Reliable Cloud:

Step 1: Audit and Strategy: We began with an in-depth audit of the outdated on-premise infrastructure and an analysis of business needs to design a new, optimal architecture in Google Cloud.

Step 2: Implementation and Migration: We migrated data and applications to the new GCP environment, utilizing, among other things, Google’s Polish data center, which is crucial for compliance with critical infrastructure requirements.

Step 3: 24/7 Maintenance and Monitoring: Immediately after migration, we placed the entire platform under continuous, proactive monitoring, guaranteeing its stability and security from day one.

Step 4: Assuming Full Responsibility: Gradually implementing further improvements, such as automation and cost optimization, we took full, ongoing responsibility for the client’s infrastructure maintenance, monitoring, and development under an SLA.

Transformation: Tangible Successes and New Quality

The new operational strategy immediately translated into business value. Instead of managing incidents as they occurred, we introduced a culture of prevention, based on reliability engineering. Unified environments and intelligent monitoring allowed the team to unleash its full potential, giving it new confidence in scaling services and full cost transparency.

Key Results:

  • Full scalability and elimination of technical debt.
  • Guarantee of compliance and security (Compliance).
  • Maximum stability thanks to an SLA.
  • Cost and process optimization.
  • Transition to a Managed Services model.

Technology as a Guarantee of Compliance: Open Nexus’s New Reality

For Open Nexus, technology ceased to be merely operational support; it became an active tool for gaining market advantage. Instead of focusing on maintaining performance, the team can now confidently present the capabilities of a system that more than meets the rigorous requirements of the public sector. A flexible and scalable platform, supported by a reliable partnership, allows Open Nexus not only to respond to market needs but, above all, to actively shape its future and strengthen its leadership position.
